Our Mission
SEK Animal Advocates is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer, foster-based rescue organization that assists the homeless pets in Southeast Kansas. SEK Animal Advocates coordinates with local veterinarians, foster homes, rescue transporters, and rescues nationwide in an attempt to find
every pet a FUR-EVER home!
Our Impact
In our first year of operation, 2021, we saved the lives of 225 dogs. In 2022, that nearly doubled to 463 dogs. In 2023, we saw yet another increase in need, and saved 636 dogs.
In 2024, we opened our doors to cats and ended the year with 628 dogs and 144 cats saved! We were also able to open our low-cost spay and neuter clinic and provided over 250 reduced cost surgeries to citizens in the surrounding area.
We can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for us.
Our History
SEK Animal Advocates was founded in December 2020 by a group of passionate animal lovers who wanted to make a difference in their community. Since then, we have helped thousands of homeless pets in Southeast Kansas and the surrounding area.
Our Team
SEK Animal Advocates is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Our board members have varying backgrounds in agriculture, education, administration, and more - but we all have one goal in mind, to help as many vulnerable pets as we can.
